Founded in 1987, MusicWorx of California is a single-proprietor contracting and consulting agency, whose executive office is located near Del Mar in north coastal San Diego County, California. The MusicWorx clinical training team operates from an office situated in Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

MusicWorx is both an AMTA-compliant provider of music therapy services and an AMTA-approved clinical training site for degreed music therapists working toward national board certification. AMTA significance appears in Qualifications, topic two of the MusicWorx Company pages.

The MusicWorx team comprises 13 members:
•  the founder / clinical training director
•  4 board-certified clinical training supervisors
•  4 board-certified music therapist subcontractors
•  4 college-degreed music therapist interns

Between 1997 and the end of 2003, the site will have trained and graduated 40 interns. Many have chosen to remain in San Diego following graduation, expanding the pool of board-certified music therapist talent now providing contractual services to a diverse and continually growing local client base.
