2 | Intern Health Certification  |  Absence of proper evidence will delay intern work clearance

Internship requires certification of freedom from and immunization against four communicable diseases.
Interns should complete as many as possible of the following health requirements prior to the internship term.

1 |  Hepatitis
This series of inoculations is offered at no charge to all staff members of Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. MusicWorx interns are considered to be staff. Interns may want to start the series in their home states and complete the final set of vaccinations in La Jolla.

2 | Tuberculosis (TB)
Two TB skin screenings are required of all interns. If you can present documentation that you have undergone one screening within one year prior to your internship term commencement, you may consider it as one of the two tests. The second skin screening must be completed in San Diego.

3 |  Rub
ella (German measles) and Rubcola (red measles)
All interns born in or after 1957 must present proof of immunity in one of the following three forms:

a |  Documentation of two rubella vaccinations and two rubcola vaccinations after the age of one. The MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine immunizes against both rubella and rubcola, but two doses are necessary. Interns lacking this documentation will require both MMRs, administered no closer than one month apart, or
b |  Documentation signed by a personal physician that you have contracted both rubella and rubcola, or
c |  Documentation that blood drawn and tested determined immunity to rubella and rubcola. Such a blood test requires a physician's authorization.
